How can Psychology help you?

Psychological support is something that many people can benefit from at various times during their lives. The stresses of modern day life can become overwhelming, and responsibilities related to relationships, family, work and other commitments become wearing. The fallout from these stressors can have an impact on our emotional wellbeing, behaviour and relationships.

In the busy rush to manage all these competing demands and difficulties, we often overlook our own needs. Eventually, we end up lacking energy, motivation and interest in the things that used to give us pleasure and fulfilment. A psychological consultation offers a chance to focus on how you got stuck and how to move forward again. It can also help you to gain insights into how you might be repeating unhelpful patterns in life and relationships, and offers the opportunity to consider different, more helpful ways to manage.

Mindful or Mind Full?
What to expect from a psychological consultation

A psychological consultation simply involves identifying the things that have become difficult and working out together, what might be a helpful way to understand and manage those difficulties.

The initial interview is where we talk about what is worrying you and together develop a plan to work on them. Follow up appointments are guided by this plan and we constantly check to see how that plan is working. When it is working we stick with it, where it doesn’t seem to be working, we talk about other options and test how they might help.
